Project Overview
The Pecan Energy Storage facility will provide energy and capacity services to the Georgia grid, enhancing grid reliability. The project will abide by the most stringent design and safety standards to ensure the project maximizes benefits to South Georgia and Mitchell County.
Construction of the Pecan facility is anticipated to start in 2029. The 2031 completion of the facility will ensure the reliability of Georgia’s grid in the face of growing electricity demand throughout the state.
Adjacent to an existing high voltage transmission line, the site’s location minimizes environmental impacts. Pecan’s site location is optimal for new energy infrastructure as it does not require long transmission lines to connect the facility to the power grid and is conducive to surrounding land uses.
